Fairy House!

Roxie is my toy poodle! She is such a little love! I am not normally a small dog person, I usually like big dogs! But how can you resist that face! I think she is a little put out because she is not quite sure what to do with the two new kittens that have been living at the farm Snowball and Tigger! They are really loveable too! I think Roxie isn't quite sure about them yet! Someone dropped the two kittens off on a dock at a boatyard where my sister Linda works and she took care of them until they were old enought to eat on their own and then she brought them to my father at the farm! They love it here!

Well it has been a very busy couple of days! The kids have built a fairy house with Ms, Stacey! They have been looking for fairies ever since! It really looks cool! The kids put moss around the front yard and sticks for a fence they have a grass thatch roof decorated with flowers and they even have a bed for the fairies to sleep in. They have had a ball creating this! They even put in a stone walkway! I should have them plan out my house! it's just really great to see their little faces light up with the mere thought of fairies cohabiting in their little creation! Great job Ms. Stacey!

I was lucky enough to have my sister Michelle come and help me make some grape jelly and also some hot pepper jelly!
we really have had fun making it! It is quite the process! Michelle did a great job stirring the batches constantly. I'm not quite sure why she puts up with me, if everything isn't quite perfect I freak-out a little...i am working on that though..

The pigs are now in the freezer I had some sausage for breakfast and a pork chop for dinner ..man there is nothing like fresh meat. Nothing like in the stores. I also got more tomatoes and eggplant from my garden! I have been eating fresh tomato sandwiches all weekend..mmm.good!

There has been lots of work to do on the farm, trying to get ready for the big Farm Day on October 11! Tommy, Billy and My father will be selling Beefalo burgers and a pasta plate. i will be selling my jams/Jellies and anything else I can whip up between now and then, Linda will be selling her Mary-Kay Cosmetics, Michelle and Charlie will be selling yard sale stuff. We have lots of family coming up to hopefully help for the event. There will be other Vendors as well. hopefully will will get a lot of people! Pray for good weather! I figure there may be about 500 people over the course of the day! Hopefully! That's a lot of Beefalo Burgers!!! It's really nice to have animals on the Farm again.

Ms Lynn's birthday!!

Well, Ms Lynn thought she was going to pull a fast one today! Thank goodness Ms Seanna reminded me!! Ms Lynn has turned another year! Is that her praying to the porcelain god? MAYBE???? LOL...No.....She is playing Cinderella!! Seanna gladly picked up the cake for us today! We had candles, but chose to use the numbers 5 & 6 ...She really isn't 56 ...not today anyways! It was good! The kids enjoyed it! What a beautiful day (no week) it has been, the weather has been perfect! I was really slow moving today, ...Thank goodness for understanding girls! They pretty much let me do what I want, most of the time...I certainly do realize how lucky I am to have them! I have to say, the kids are really cute, when you really listen to what they have to say, they really do say the darndest things.. Seanna's baby has really one my heart over! He really gets me,...He actually belly laughs when I say something sarcastic! He is soooo cute!!! He just turned two! he really understands though!...Makes me laugh on a daily basis!
I was supposed to clean the office today! oops...I WILL GET IT DONE BY MONDAY!!! I promise! lol...There I put it in writing!! It's supposed to rain all weekend...I have lots to do!
My sister informed me that I could use a juicer to extract the seeds and skin from the grapes!!! Luckily my father has a one I can borrow! I will let you know how the jelly comes out! ok. well it's getting late! I have to get up early in the a.m.!

Monday!!

Well it is the end of another Monday! They come so quick! The older you get the faster time flies! remember when you were a kid and it seemed like forever when you were waiting for Santa to come, or just to wait in line to see a movie seemed like days on end... Well now, it's like a flash of light that goes by with each day...they all start to run into each other and then weeks months, and years go by!.....CRAZY!!! well, Ms Lynn brought me in the most beautiful grapes that her Father has grown and picked for me to make some grape jelly! I am still trying to figure out how I am going to extract those darn little seeds from the middles!... It is a challenge! I wish I had Lucy to stomp them!! Hahaha... Love that show! "I Love Lucy" How did I get off on that??? Oh, well... I also picked peaches off of a tree that my Mother had planted in her yard probably 25 or 30 years ago.. i don't recall ever getting peaches off of it before.. but I am going to try to make some peach cobbler..or something.. with them.. Daycare was great today. We talked about how a lot of children don't have Fathers. I had one little girl who was very upset because she hadn't seen her father in over 3 months. Just because he is not with the Mother. If people only realized how they affect children. In order to help her try to work through this emptiness, I tried to encourage the other children to talk obout their Fathers and how many of them only get to see their Fathers every other weekend, due to divorce, and also the many children who have Fathers and even Mothers who are serving our country. Many of these children do not get to see them for months and months or even years!!! I can't even imagine what these children must be feeling. I always have had my Father close by. The furthest he ever went when I was a kid was to work, and when we mis-behaved we DREADED the words... " WAIT 'TILL YOUR FATHER GETS HOME!"...Man how the tables have turned!

I love weekends!! I LOVE ME TIME!

I really wish we only had to work two days a week and got to do what we wanted to do for five! Now wouldn't that be fun? I am not sure what it is, but I am so much more productive on the weekends! Maybe it's because I don't have 20 little kids calling Ms. Kim..every two seconds...Yeah, I am SURE that's what it is! hahahaha.. I guess I just never realized how demanding my job can be at times... It's constant, someone always needing some help with something, tying of shoes, putting a sweater on, changing a diaper, wiping a runny nose...it's never ending somedays... I guess that's why I really enjoy my "ME TIME"... I just love weekends, when there is nobody here except me and my dogs. I got up early, had breakfast up a the farm, threw some laundry in, went to get gas for the lawn mower, came back home put another load of laundry, hung the first load out on the line.. Oh how I LOVE the smell of laundry on the line! Mowed all of the grass around my house. Hung the second load out on the line. Mowed the grass up and around the farm. I can't imagine, my Mother used to do it all by herself, no help, ever. Well, hardly ever. no wonder it always seemed like she was mowing the lawn. I got done about 4:00 . Then I set up my Fathers new computer for him. went back to my house and took the second load off the line went back up to finish the computer setup. Put the meatpie that I made for dinner in the oven. Had some good laughs with my Uncle Tommy who is up visiting my Father for the week. went back home...man is it getting cold out! Ran to my truck! Man I am sooo glad I din't have to walk home.. It is so cold out!
Florida is looking better by the second! I made six loaves of Zuchini bread...and now I am blogging and reaizing why I am tired.. I love my ME TIME! I feel like I accomplished a lot today!....Good Night.

T.G.I.F.

Well, thank God it's Friday!! We have had a wonderful week! The kids are starting to get used to the routine and things are just starting to feel a bit settled. I am amazed at how eager these little ones are to learn! They are just so wide eyed and eager to please!....But I know, once they all start feeling comfortable here, and the newness wears off, The shoe is going to drop and they will start acting like siblings. AAHHH...just when I thought I kinda knew just about all there is to know about preschoolers, I get one or two that really challenge my knowledge! You would think that after twenty-five years, well, almost, it will be twenty five this coming June, that I would know all those little tricks these kids have up their sleeves. Well, I don't!!!! I will be the first to admit it. There is always at least one amongst the new bunch that truly baffles me. Maybe these kids coming through, ARE GENIUSES, (like most Mothers think that their first born is)...and I just don't see it!...Maybe the common denominator in this problem is me! If I had a nickle for each parent that told me that they thought their kid was a genius, I would be on an island somewhere where I didn't have to work! Let me shed a little light on you loving Mothers. Let me give you a little hint! Just because your child was not socialized with other children their own age before the age of three, because you were the only person you allowed in their life, does not constitute a Genius! This only makes them social outcasts! Just because you force your child to talk in full sentences before allowing them to do something, does not constitute a Genius!! This only causes low self esteem, as well as neurotic, impulsive behavior as they grow older! Just because you choose to read chapter books instead of Dr. Seuss to your child before they go to bed, does not constitute a Genius!! It only causes undo stress and night terrors! Just because you drill your child on a daily basis on how to write his /her name, does not constitute a Genius! All it does is confirm how messed up you are as a parent! Maybe you should have another kid just to take the focus off of the first one, then maybe you would realize that the first one isn't any smarter than the second, or maybe that you had another Genius. If the latter is the case, well than maybe you should just go ahead and keep on reproducing so there would be more geniuses in the world! WHATEVER! ! All in all I guess that's what makes the world go 'round! It sure makes for conversation!

My first time blogging.

It has been a wonderful day today. It rained most of the afternoon. We took the kids out early today, they had lots of energy! By 9:30 a.m. I couldn't take it anymore, so out we went before the rain started. It started out sprinkling, so I decided I better throw out some grass seed to try to help my gravel stay warm for the winter. We are supposed to get a frost this week, already!!! It's only September!! Florida here I come!! The kids are trying hard to get into a routine. Not bad for only the second week of school. Lots of them were tired today though, gotta love naptime! I really wish more parents would pay closer attention to what they feed their kids. i see more and more processed foods! SOOO ba d for their growing brains! Did you know that 80% of your brain grows within the first 3 years of life! If they are not eating right, thier brains are starving! Home grown/Home cooked! Come on people! These are YOUR CHILDREN!!!!
They only know what you tell and show them! Or is it SHOW and TELL...!
